Sports Goggles for Kids
Most people assume sports goggles are only for kids who need vision correction. In reality, protective eyewear is highly recommended for all kids involved in athletic activities. According to the National Eye Institute, eye injuries are a leading cause of blindness among children in the U.S. Sports goggles are a perfect safe and durable choice for protective eyewear and are available with or without a prescription.
Dissecting Sports Goggles
Designed specifically to withstand high levels of force, sports goggles are constructed with high-impact nylon and impact-resistant polycarbonate lenses. Adjustable straps also keep them securely in place.

Sports Goggles Safety Standards
There are two U.S. standards for protective eyewear: ASTM and ANSI. When choosing a pair of sports goggles, it’s important to make sure that either an ASTM or ANSI standard is listed.
- The American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) publishes safety standards for athletic activities. F803 is the highest standard for protective eyewear.
- The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) publishes standards for occupational safety. Z87.1 is the standard for eye protection.
