Even though the royal wedding and everything Harry and Meghan do still captivate us—come July 4th, we will commemorate our 1776 break with Britain. Citizens of all ages, ethnicities, and creeds will burst at the seams with American pride. It's hard not to. "Born in the U.S.A." will be in heavy rotation, and Pinterest will be filled with the finest barbeque side dishes this side of the Mason-Dixon line.
The Fourth of July also means we are officially knee-deep in summer. Ice cream cones don't last long, sprinklers work overtime, and sunglasses are a must. The fashion of the day (or the month) is red, white and blue with a heaping helping of stars and stripes. The more the better. Once the calendar flips to July, we explode with national pride, relish in our independence, and set off more bottle rockets than you can shake a tiny American flag at. It's a day when we can all agree that this land of the free and the home of the brave is a pretty stellar place. Whether you were born in the states or immigrated from other lands—we'll all rejoice in the freedoms we've been given, and celebrate this vast melting pot we call home.
Have a fun and safe Fourth of July!
