Children are starting to spend more and more time looking at screens. Between video games, television shows, online classes, and mobile apps, it can be hard for kids to stay away. However, the amount of screen time they’re exposed to and the blue light screens emit can have negative effects.

Screen time should be limited to reduce the possibility of these symptoms. According to The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), children under 2 years of age should have no screen time and children 2 to 5 years of age should have no more than one hour of screen time per day. By the time they’re teens, studies have found that kids spend around 7 hours a day on digital devices. It is important to try to limit that amount of time and implement strategies to reduce their screen exposure.
